President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi issued, on Tuesday, a decree that will increase consular service fees at Egyptian embassies worldwide and change the system for fees collection.
The decision stipulated that the decree No 145 for 1999, regarding the reduction of the consular fee abroad for the issuance of the ordinary passport, shall be cancelled.
According to new decree No 450 for 2020, a fee of EGP 430 is collected for the issuance of marriage certificates, while a fee of EGP 485 is collected to finish divorce processes. A fee of EGP 170 must be paid for proving or the denial of paternity and lineage. A fee of EGP 120 shall be paid for all consular services related to real estate and movable property, which includes selling, exchanging or declaration of ownership.
For the opening or receiving of a last will and testament, a fee of EGP 120 must be paid. In order to obtain verifications and translations of official documents, a fee of EGP 105 must be paid. This should be paid upon attestation of the documents by the Egyptian representative mission abroad. However, if the attestation is made inside Egypt, the fee paid will be EGP 90. Ratification of commercial invoices will cost between EGP 370 and EGP 385.
The issuance of regular passports for students is free, but will cost EGP 180 for citizens, whilst the replacement of lost passports will cost EGP 190.
The cost of single entry visas for tourists stands at EGP 25, and EGP 115 for multiple entry visas. Single entry non-tourism entry visas will cost EGP 125 and EGP 200 for multiple entry visas. The cost of transit visas will be between EGP 125 and EGP 200.
