ICT infrastructure provider Benya Capital is looking to develop the technological infrastructure of communications networks across Egypt and Africa.
The company outlined its plans in a meeting between Benya CEO and Chairperson Ahmed Mekki and Mohamed Abdel Wahab, Executive Director of the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI).
The meeting also reviewed coordination with the company to implement a number of vital projects in the information technology (IT) sector. This includes a fibre optic cables plant in Egypt, which was announced recently.
Benya is one of the leading companies providing telecommunications and IT solutions, and technological infrastructure in both Egypt and the Middle East. The group has played a significant role in pushing digital transformation forward in Egypt, Africa and the Middle East, due to their supply of fibre optic cables to these markets.
Abdel Wahab praised Benya for its distinguished expertise in the field of fibre optic cables. He stressed the importance of strengthening private sector participation in state-implemented projects, particularly in developing the country’s technological infrastructure, which is seen as a basic pillar of Egypt’s digital transformation plan.
Mekki highlighted the company’s intention to move forward in introducing the latest technologies and the highest quality standards for the Egyptian industry. It will also undertake cooperation with major international companies and encourage them to localise modern technology in Egypt, referring to his company’s cooperation with a number of government agencies to implement its plans for digital transformation.
