Mercedes-Benz Egypt announced the arrival of its all new and highly popular compact SUV, the GLA. With a stronger and more reinforced character, a powerful and efficient four-cylinder engine, the latest driving assistance systems, and the MBUX infotainment system, the new GLA has all the strengths of a class leading lifestyle oriented compact SUV. It will be available in two packages, including the GLA 200 AMG and the GLA 200 Progressive.
Self-assured and dynamic exterior design
As a compact SUV, the new GLA conveys both sportiness and modernity. The front and rear views are characterised by a wide muscular stance. The side profile gives the car a dynamic elegant flair, accentuated by the coupé-like lines of the side windows. The GLA 200 Progressive features stylish exterior highlights, and comes with 18-inch light alloy wheels. As for the GLA 200 AMG, it includes the sporty AMG package, the night package and 19-inch wheels.
Contemporary and modern interior luxury
Offering a characteristic compact SUV seating position, the new GLA is more than ten centimetres higher than its predecessor. It also offers additional headroom at the front and considerably more legroom in the rear, making it more spacious and practical.
The new interior maintains its high quality hallmarks and a contemporary design. Both the GLA 200 AMG and Progressive are generously equipped with high end options, including the intuitively operated MBUX infotainment system, along with an all-digital instrument display, ambient lightning, Smartphone integration and an electrically operated tailgate. The GLA 200 AMG is further equipped with an advanced sound system, wireless charging and a Panoramic sunroof.
Driving assistance systems
The GLA takes another step forward towards safety and driving assistance, elevating Mercedes-Benz Intelligent Drive to the next level. The range of driving assistance and safety systems includes ATTENTION ASSIST, Adaptive brake lights, and Active Parking Assist with PARKTRONIC.
The GLA also boasts a reversing camera and the Active Braking Assist system, which is fitted as standard, and which in emergency situations applies autonomous braking to avoid a collision. To complement the dynamic abilities of the new GLA200, the car is equipped with a new 1.4 litre turbocharged engine delivering 163 hp, also featuring a 7G DCT dual-clutch transmission.
