Chairperson of the General Egyptian Book Organization (GEBO), Haitham Al-Haj Ali, opened the Daqahleya Book Fair, on Tuesday.
He said that the event is the third exhibition of its kind to physically take place in the world, after the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
The book fair will run for 10 days at the Shajar al-Durr Garden in Mansoura. The exhibition will witness the participation of 53 publishers and several sectors affiliated with the Ministry of Culture.
Ali said that the exhibition is the first large event to be held in Mansoura, in cooperation with the Egyptian Publishers Union and the Daqahleya governorate. It comes as part of Egypt’s Culture Programme, which organises book fairs all over the country.
He added that Daqahleya is considered as the capital of cultural and creative movements in Nile Delta region.
