The Egyptian Exporters Association – Expolink has decided to turn the fifth edition of “Destination Africa” forum for textile industries into a digital event for the first time, in cooperation with the Apparel Export Council of Egypt (AECE), the Textile Export Council, and the Home Textiles Export Council (HTEC).
The pan-African B2B sourcing event, sponsored by Intertek, Oeti (Oeko-Tex), Wrap, and Rieter, will take place starting from 16 November.
Khaled El-Mikati, Chairperson of the Egyptian Exporters Association-Expolink, said, “Destination Africa 2020 will have 30 days online presence, bringing more than 36 exhibitors from Egypt, South Africa, Tunisia, Rwanda, and Mauritius together with more than 140 international buyers.”
Destination Africa is the only event of its kind that serves the African textile manufacturers with export opportunities and exposure to the international market, providing the link between manufacturers, suppliers, investors, and buyers in Africa as well as linking them to the regional and international markets.
It illustrates to the international and the regional buyers, how Africa can compete in quality, standards, prices, efficiency and meeting the needs of the international markets.
This year through international virtual platforms, Destination Africa comes within the framework of the Expolink initiative to deal with the challenges faced by the exporting community, and with the continuous change in business dynamics. These changes require adapting to them quickly and efficiently, using the latest technological technologies and digital transformation projects, El-Mikati said.
He added that Expolink has launched a new bundle of top-quality and cutting-edge digital services, programmes, and electronic activities to provide the latest tools for cooperation and integration between the stages of the export process and cope with the accelerating new innovations worldwide.
