Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi met, on Thursday, with Iraqi Defence Minister Juma’a Inad Saadoun during the latter’s visit to Cairo, where both sides discussed enhancing military cooperation between the two Arab countries, according to a statement by the Egyptian presidency.
The statement added that the meeting also tackled the cooperation between Egypt and Iraq in military exercises, exchange of experiences, training programmes, and capacity building. The officials also touched on several Arab and regional issues of common interest.
Al-Sisi affirmed Egypt’s keenness to cooperate with Iraq in all fields, especially military, to help the brother country face its security and stability challenges, and achieve progress and prosperity.
For his part, the Iraqi Minister expressed his country’s aspiration to enhance cooperation with Egypt. He also stressed that the Iraqi government and people’s appreciation for the Egyptian efforts in support of the Iraqi cause.
