Egypt’s Minister of Culture Inas Abdel Dayem has met with South Korea’s Ambassador to Cairo Hong Jin-wook, to discuss ways of enhancing the cultural and artistic exchange between the two countries.
Celebrating the 25th anniversary of the formal establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, Abdel Dayem praised the strength and durability of relations between Egypt and South Korea.
The minister said that both countries constantly cooperate in culture and arts, and that this cooperation continued online during the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
She said that Korea has a distinctive character, which bears a unique form of creativity, and there is great importance in implementing intellectual and joint artistic projects after the end of the exceptional circumstances the world is currently going through.
Moreover,Ambassador Hong said that Egypt’s civilisation is characterised by plurality and diversity in all fields, indicating its impact on various countries and peoples.
He said that South Korea closely follows the Egyptian intellectual and artistic activities, and praised the preventive measures taken by the Egyptian government to continue the innovation march in the country.
Ambassador Hong added that Egyptians have positively responded to Korean culture, explaining that his country’s TV shows have succeeded in forming a wide audience in Egypt.
He expressed his country’s aspirations to carry out musical and cinematic projects with Egypt in addition to intensifying reciprocal activities.
