Egypt’s Minister of Youth and Sports, Ashraf Sobhy, will hold an online meeting with the Governor of the Japanese city of Tenri to discuss bilateral cooperation in the Olympic sports. Egypt aims to benefit from the Japanese expertise in sports training and camps, in preparation for the 2020 Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games in Tokyo.
The meeting will be attended by the Japanese Ambassador to Cairo, Masaki Noke; Chief Representative of JICA Egypt Office, Omura Yoshifumi; President of the Egyptian Judo Federation, Mutia Fakhr El-Din; Egyptian Olympic champion for Judo Mohamed Rashwan, and several officials from the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
The meeting will tackle cooperation in the field of qualifying athletic cadres in sports that characterize the Japanese city, foremost of which is Judo, in addition to providing specialized trainers in various technical, medical, psychological and nutrition fields to support the National Project for Talent and Olympic Champion, which is being implemented by the Ministry in many sports.
The meeting will also deal with areas of cooperation with the university in the city, especially the scientific fields specialized in sports and the provision of training scholarships for various specialists in the Egyptian sports field.
