Government directs EGP 90bn for local development since July 2018

The Ministry of Local Development has announced, in its annual report, that the government has directed EGP 90bn for development projects in different governorates, benefiting about 60 million citizens, during the period from July 2018 to December 2020.

The report, issued on Thursday, added that these projects included construction of roads and bridges, sanitation networks, and electricity stations, and developing street lighting, security, firefighting, and traffic services, as well as raising the efficiency of public services and infrastructure in villages.

It pointed out that funds were also allocated to establish industrial zones and supporting financing programmes.
