Head of Egypt’s national committee on Libyan affairs, has called on the warring factions in Libya to set aside their differences in order to end the long-time crisis.
His comments came during the second meeting of the Libyan Constitutional Committee, held in the Egyptian Red Sea city of Hurghada to discuss Libya’s constitutional path.
During the opening session, he praised the stances taken by Libyan parties and their readiness to end the long-time crisis.
He urged them to take the advantage of this historic chance to reach a unified constitutional base to hold national elections on 24 December 2021.
Tuesday’s meeting was held under the sponsorship of the United Nations (UN), with the participation of two delegations from Libya’s House of Representatives and High Council of State, each comprising 10 members.
The talks aim to make the constitutional arrangements necessary for the holding of elections this coming December.
