Egypt’s Minister of Planning and Economic Development Hala El-Said has met with Mohamed Hassan Al-Suwaidi, CEO of the Abu Dhabi Development Holding Company (ADQ), and the company’s senior management team.
The meeting was held to follow up on the work of the joint Egyptian-UAE investment platform. It was attended by Ayman Soliman, Executive Director of The Sovereign Fund of Egypt (TSFE), of which El-Said is the chairperson.
The meeting included review of the work steps and partnership between the TSFE and the UAE in several projects, the exchange of views on investment opportunities, and maximising returns from the assets offered for investment.
It also discussed the operational steps and timetables of the current projects in the field of health services, pharmaceutical industries, real estate development, logistics services, and the transportation sector.
The meeting also reviewed the results of studies on attracting Arab and foreign investments to joint projects.
El-Said asserted the depth of cooperation between Egypt and the UAE in all fields, especially in economics, and highlighted Egypt’s keenness to activate the joint investment platform’s role to achieve the highest utilisation of available opportunities.
The minister also noted the importance of holding periodic meetings between the two sides, and continuous follow-up to ensure the achievement of the action plan’s desired goals. She made note of her expectations to announce several projects by the end of the first quarter (Q1) of 2021.
