The Cabinet’s Media Center has denied news that has been circulating regarding the possible privatisation of government services provided to citizens in the health, education, and transport sectors.
The alleged privatisation was said to take place under the Law “Regulating Private Sector Participation in Infrastructure Projects, Services and Public Utilities”.
In a statement on Wednesday, the media center said that the Ministry of Finance has called the news false. The ministry added that there is no intention to privatise government services provided to citizens in the health, education, and transportation sectors.
It also stressed the state will continue to own and administer these strategic sectors without any intention to privatise them, with the commitment to provide all government services to citizens in a natural and regular manner.
In a related context, the Media Center said that the law mentioned does not affect the price of services provided to citizens.
