Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi affirmed, on Wednesday, that Egypt views Pakistan with great consideration and appreciation as one of the largest Islamic countries.
The President’s remarks came during a meeting with Pakistani Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi.
Bassam Rady, Spokesperson for the Egyptian Presidency, said that Qureshi delivered a message from Pakistani President Arif Alvi, which included an invitation for Al-Sisi to visit Pakistan.
Qureshi conveyed his country’s praise for Egypt’s achievements in different fields. This includes “starting with combating terrorism and achieving security and stability, then efforts to achieve comprehensive development during the deep economic reform, and the establishment of major national projects currently underway.”
He said that Pakistan views the Egyptian development experience with appreciation and admiration and looks forward to benefiting from such experience.
Al-Sisi asserted that Egypt welcomes the development of bilateral cooperation between the two countries, and the exchange of experiences in various fields.
Both sides also discussed bilateral relations, especially in terms of security and economic cooperation, and trade and investment exchange.
This includes exploring prospects for cooperation between the port of Gwadar in Pakistan and the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone), to establish integrated industrial projects within the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative projects.
