A delegation from the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development, in charge of the Localities Development Project, has visited the Aswan and Giza governorates to review the work in progress at technological centres.
The delegation visited several cities in Aswan, and the town of Atfih in Giza . Major General Muhammad Ezzi, General Supervisor of the Localities Development Project at the Ministry, headed the delegation’s visit to Aswan, whilst Brigadier General Sameh Zakaria, Director of the Localities Development Project at the Ministry, headed the delegation in Giza.
Egypt’s Minister of Planning and Economic Development Hala El-Said said that her ministry has a role in: developing the performance of government services; simplifying procedures for obtaining them; and providing better and faster service to the Egyptian citizen.
It stems from the pillar of transparency and efficiency of government institutions in the Egypt Vision 2030 sustainable development agenda.
El-Said stressed that the ministry is keen to continue working in technology centres across Egypt to overcome any obstacles that may affect the progress of their work.
This is in addition to providing the necessary training for workers in these centres, so that they can keep pace with technological changes and to ensure the transition to the mechanisation process without difficulties.
The minister noted her keenness to complete the process of automating services at technology centres which comes in light of the state’s shift to digital transformation. She pointed to the completion of the mechanisation and development of 261 technology centres out of a total of 307 centres across Egypt.
During the visit to Aswan governorate, the Ministry delegation attended a meeting with Aswan Deputy Governor Ghada Abu Zeid, as well as mayors and directors of the engineering department.
This took place to present the objectives of the project, and the updates that took place in the system, especially relating to the work cycle. This would see a tightening control over financial proceeds, especially the collection of instalments.
The delegation also passed through the cities of Kalabsha, Seba’a, Al Busayliyah, Rudisiyah, Abu Simbel, and Kom Ombo, where they held meetings with city leaders to review data and test candidates for training. Training will continue in these cities on the applications until mid-April.
The Ministry of Planning and Economic Development delegation visited the city of Atfih in Giza to follow up on the progress of the training process. The city’s technology centre was also reviewed, to ensure that each employee understands their work tasks and how to receive requests and print different forms in the work cycle.
