Egypt expressed its strong condemnation, on Sunday, of the Iran-backed Houthi movement’s ballistic missile attacks on Saudi Arabia.
In a statement, Egypt expressed its complete rejection and strong condemnation of such acts of sabotage and terrorism against vital facilities in the Kingdom.
Egypt also underscored its solidarity with the people and government of Saudi Arabia. It added that it stands by the Kingdom “in all measures it takes to defend its territories, and safeguard its security and stability against such heinous attacks in its effort to combat terrorism and its backers”,
The Arab Coalition forces, on Saturday night and Sunday morning, intercepted and destroyed a ballistic missile moving towards Riyadh and explosive-laden drones. The ballistics had been launched by the Houthi militia targeting civilian areas in Saudi Arabia’s southern regions of Jazan and Khamis Mushayt, according to a statement by Brigadier General Turki Al-Malki, official Spokesperson for the Coalition to Restore Legitimacy in Yemen.
“The terrorist Houthi militia is purposely escalating the deliberate, hostile, terrorist targeting of civilians and civilian objects using ballistic missiles and bomb-laden UAVs,” Al-Malki said.
