The awards cover female leaders in the fields of: work in capital market activities; companies listed on the Egyptian Exchange (EGX); insurance; real estate finance companies; financial leasing and factoring; and microfinance. The announcement ceremony was witnessed by FRA Chairperson Mohamed Omran.
The FRA head revealed the names of the winners for every non-banking financial activity as: Eman Ismail for financial leasing activity; Reham Farouk for microfinance activity; Ghada Hammouda for money market activity; Ghada Shams for factoring activity; Mervat Amer for real estate finance activity; Hadeel Abdel Qader for insurance business; and Yasmine Negm for companies listed on the Egyptian Exchange.
The winners were awarded the authority’s award and certificates of appreciation, after a race that lasted for more than 70 days. They come as confirmation of the authority’s endeavours to support female leaders in the non-banking financial sector (NBFS), and to present successful women models with real achievements on the ground.
Omran said that the government institutions have always directed many calls for women’s support. The FRA has taken it upon itself to face the challenge of empowering women, and to commit voluntarily in a responsible manner to achieving the fifth goal of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) related to gender equality.
To do so, it has launched the first integrated strategy for the non-banking financial sector in Egypt to chart a course of action within four years to create an inclusive non-banking financial system. It also aims to serve as a catalyst for economic growth characterised by independence and equality between the sexes.
