Three exciting and highly anticipated confrontations will take place in the 29th round of the English Premier League, on Thursday, led by Liverpool and Chelsea at Anfield, that are expected to clash in a fiery face-off.
The first match on Thursday will be between West Bromwich Albion and Everton at 20:00, at the Hawthornes Stadium. West Brom currently rank second to last in the table with 17 points, while Everton is in 7th place with 43 points.
At the same time, Fulham will host fellow Londoners, Tottenham Hotspur, at Craven Cottage, where Fulham is in 18th place with 23 points, while Tottenham is currently in 8th place with 39 points.
The top match between Liverpool and Chelsea kicks off at 22:15, with the hosts Liverpool in sixth place with 43 points, while the guests are in fifth place with 44 points.
Liverpool are armed for the match with Mohamed Salah’s record against London clubs. The Egyptian pharaoh scored 30 goals against clubs from the English capital, including: nine goals against West Ham United; six goals against Arsenal; six goals against Crystal Palace; five goals against Tottenham; two goals against Chelsea; and two goals against Fulham.
Salah heads the Premier League top scorer list with 17 goals this season, with his last goal coming against Leicester City in the 24th round of the Premier League, beating Portuguese star Bruno Fernandez, the Manchester United midfielder, who ranked second with 15 goals.
Liverpool are playing Thursday’s match, amid the return of Alisson Becker, Diogo Jota, and Fabinho after injury. The latter returned to training after a muscle injury that kept him out of Liverpool’s last four matches, whilst Becker missed Liverpool’s 2-0 victory over Sheffield United on Sunday evening due to the death of his father.
Because of the injury, Jota missed 18 games in all competitions. Liverpool won during the absence of the former Wolverhampton striker only seven games, and lost seven confrontations. The Portuguese has won in 10 of the 17 matches he participated in with the Reds, since joining from Wolverhampton in the summer, scoring nine goals during that period.
The Reds are seeking to win after the negative results suffered in the league recently, while the Blues only think of victory in order to correct the course in the Premier League competition during the next stage.
Liverpool faced Chelsea in the Premier League 57 times. The Reds won 23 games, while the Blues won 20 games, 14 games ended in a draw. The Blues scored 69 goals against Liverpool, while Liverpool scored 73 goals against the London team.
