Sudan’s Prime Minister Abdalla Hamdok to arrive in Egypt on Thursday

Sudan’s Prime Minister Abdalla Hamdok will visit Egypt on 11-12 March, to meet with Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi and ministers, according to Egyptian Presidency spokesperson Bassam Rady. 

During the visit, the two sides are expected to discuss many files of common interest between the two countries.

President Al-Sisi’s visit to Sudan earlier this week received great interest from Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah Burhan, Chairperson of the Transitional Sovereignty Council in Sudan and Hamdok, Rady added.

He also said that the Egyptian President’s visit included an in-depth discussion of the bilateral relations between the two countries, and that the talks touched on the strategic relations between the two countries, and issues of common interest in various fields.

Rady said that Sudan attaches great importance to the electrical linkage project with Egypt, in addition to strengthening economic and commercial cooperation between the two countries. He pointed to Cairo’s support for Khartoum in its plan towards economic reform and debt consolidation with foreign countries.

He pointed out that the meeting between President Al-Sisi and Hamdok touched on the Egyptian experience in economic reform, which had achieved great success.
