The Al-Bazaar exhibition, organised by the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises Development Agency (MSMEDA), is set to take place from 11 to 20 March.
Minister of Trade and Industry Nevine Gamea said that this year’s exhibition will see the participation of about 400 exhibitors from across Egypt, most of whom are artists and specialists in heritage works and home decor.
Gamea noted that the agency is organising the Al-Bazaar Exhibition in conjunction with the celebrations for International Women’s Day, as well as Egyptian Mother’s Day.
As part of this, the exhibition includes hundreds of small and micro-business owners who represent various models of Egyptian women who have succeeded in developing their capabilities and skills. This has seen them become productive businesswomen able to positively participate in meeting the needs of their society and achieving economic development.
The minister added that the exhibition provides an opportunity for women entrepreneurs to market their products within an integrated set of services provided by MSMEDA, in terms of financing, training programmes, and marketing.
Gamea said that MSMEDA, which she also chairs, has devoted a part of the exhibition to teaching children the principles of arts related to handicrafts. This includes simple drawing and colouring techniques guided by specialists in this field.
It will take place with the aim of contributing to the creation of a new generation interested in preserving the Egyptian heritage and the country’s cultural identity, thus ensuring its continuation.
The exhibition includes a number of NGOs and development partners, in addition to pavilions dedicated to people of determination. It also includes thousands of handmade products that display Egyptian heritage in a new way that suits the consumer’s tastes, including leather and wood products, furniture, accessories, clothes, cosmetics, food, lighting units, wicker, tally, furnishings, kilims, and tableaux.
