The Social networking website said the e-book was designed and published to celebrate the achievements of women in the Middle East, North Africa, and Turkey (MENAT) region.
The book provides inspiring sources through its review of the success stories of 26 women who work and innovate in the media and entertainment sectors. In addition, it gives advice to women wishing to follow in their footsteps and get inspired by their stories.
Launching the e-book comes as part of the continuing success of the #SheCreates event that was held in December 2020. It is one of many initiatives provided by Facebook to highlight the power of communication and its deep meanings provided by its platforms and applications.
The effects of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic have threatened the decades of progress that women have worked to achieve globally. However, the existing cooperation between women worldwide through Facebook has helped them provide support for each other.
Women continued to build their societies and develop their businesses, despite the negative repercussions of the pandemic. They have kept creating active movements, and inspiring future generations to come together to overcome unexpected challenges, so each one of them has her own story to tell in this book.
“On International Women’s Day this year, we focus on the voices of a diverse group of women who have worked to add value to their communities in the MENA region,” said Moon Baz, Strategic Partner Manager at Facebook in the MENA region. “They have proved their abilities to make the desired impact in their societies and the rapprochement between its members, whether inside or outside our platforms.”
Baz added, “We have managed to introduce tangible and practical changes that left a great impact on the lives of others, and although our mission has to do with promoting rapprochement and integration efforts is not limited to a day, month, or year, we are still happy with our partnership with these elite successful women on this important global occasion to support their careers and highlight their achievements.”
In addition to the e-book release, the recorded clip of the #SheCreates event was shown on the Facebook Arabia page on 8 March, in celebration of International Women’s Day.
It is an initiative that highlights women who have succeeded in creating change and paving the way as leaders in their fields, their communities and their businesses.
“Every day is a day to celebrate and women,” said Derya Matraş, MENAT Regional Director of Facebook, “The purpose of #SheCreates speaks to its name, it’s highlighting the amazing daily impact of women across the region and the difference and changes this impact makes.”
Matraş noted that it also highlights the women-lead initiatives that have deep meanings and goals and contribute to the development of business movement and activities in all sectors and industries, which reflect the essence of this project.
It aims to provide sources of inspiration for the next generations of women over the coming years so that they can make progress together, she added.
