The Insurance Federation of Egypt(IFE) has announced the formation of a work team to facilitate the compensation procedures for those affected by Fridays’ Sohag train accident.
The team works in the insurance segment dealing with the dangers of railway, metro, highway, and train accidents.
The IFE said that the work team will obtain the necessary documents and undertake the process of reaching individuals affected by the accident, in order to pay them compensation.
The pool’s main system stipulates that insurance covers the dangers of death and other dangers to which train passengers are exposed, at a value of EGP 40,000 in the cases of death or permanent total disability.
A percentage of that amount is provided in the case of permanent partial disability, depending on the disability rates in force in the personal accident insurance documents approved by the Financial Regulatory Authority (FRA).
The compensation is paid directly to the affected people without an intermediary or any legal measures, after the required documents are submitted.
