Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi received Croatia’s Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Gordan Grlić Radman, on Wednesday, in the presence of Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Sameh Shoukry and Croatia’s Ambassador to Egypt.
During the meeting, Al-Sisi emphasised the historic friendly relations between Egypt and Croatia, as well as the former’s aspiration to strengthen the mechanisms of bilateral cooperation between the two countries at various levels.
He also stressed Egypt’s keenness to increase the rates of trade exchange, and develop economic cooperation, to keep pace with the distinguished political relations between the two countries. This comes in light of Egypt’s huge investment and industrial opportunities.
The meeting also dealt with several regional issues of mutual interest, including the Libyan issue, where both Al-Sisi and Radman affirmed the importance of concerted efforts to support the current political process. This aims at preserving the Libyan state and its national institutions, leading to the anticipated election process by the end of this year.
Moreover, the two parties exchanged views on dealing with illegal migration, as Al-Sisi noted that Egypt hosts about 6 million migrant residents of various nationalities, all of who enjoy all basic rights and work opportunities.
For his part, Radman praised Egypt’s efforts to achieve security and stability in the Middle East, expressing his country’s keenness to continue coordination and consultation between the two countries in various fields.
