Egypt Post has issued a commemorative postcard to mark this year’s World Environment Day, which is held on 5 June each year.
The day aims to spread environmental awareness, explain the risks affecting the environment, and encourage citizens to take all necessary measures to preserve it.
Egypt Post Chairperson Sherif Farouk said that restoring ecosystems is an important matter. Moreover, raising awareness on the importance of nature and its biological diversity for humans has become an urgent necessity.
All community members must be part of efforts to protect this natural wealth, to ensure a balanced future and restore natural balance.
He added that Egypt Post took the initiative to issue a commemorative postcard on the occasion of World Environment Day to raise awareness on the importance of restoring ecosystems.
Farouk said that the company is always keen to issue stamps and commemorative cards that document all important occasions and events.
Commemorative stamps are one of the more interesting editions for postage stamp collectors, tourists, and citizens. They can be used in internal and external correspondence to mark holidays and occasions.
The commemorative card is 6cm x 8cm in size, and is insured against counterfeiting, printed with multi-coloured offset. Valued at EGP 5, it comes with a QR Code, which enables philatelists and followers to obtain more information related to the edition.
