Cairo giants Al Ahly will meet Al Mokawloon Al Arab SC at Petrosport Stadium, in the postponed match of the twenty-sixth round of the Egyptian Premier League.
Al Ahly’s coaching staff have watched a number of videos of matches played by their rivals, to familiarise themselves with the Al Mokawloon Al Arab SC’s strengths and weaknesses.
Pitso Mosimane, Al Ahly’s head coach, began preparing for Thursday’s match as soon as Al Ahly defeated Alexandria’s Smouha 4-0, as part of the 28th round of the Egyptian Premier League.
Al Ahly’s Director of Football Sayed Abdel Hafeez said that the team have prepared well for the match against the Al Mokawloon Al Arab, stressing that the team’s experience qualifies them to deal with the pressure of matches.
Al Ahly will play Al Mokawloon Al Arab and Misr Lel Makkasa in the league, before they play the CAF Champions League final.
Al Ahly need to win their upcoming league games to strengthen their position in the table, currently led by their arch-rivals, Zamalek. Al Ahly have 45 points from 21 matches, after winning 13 matches, drawing six, and losing two matches against Smouha and Ghazl El-Mahalla, to be ranked second behind Zamalek.
