Mohamed Abdel Moneim, Director of the Economic Unit at Egypt’s Ministry of Youth and Sports, has confirmed that the ministry has constructed a branch of The Club at the New Administrative Capital.
The new club received EGP 4.5bn in investments, and is part of an integrated network of The Club in several new cities and governorates. It covers an area of 72 feddan in the R3 district of the NAC.
Speaking at the fifth edition of the Think Commercial Roundtable, held on Wednesday, Abdel Moneim said that the NAC’s The Club is the only project to provide service in the city so far, and consists of various sports fields.
He added that the Ministry of Youth and Sport is preparing to cooperate with all real estate developers working in the NAC. It will provide them with special offers to encourage citizens to live in the new development.
Ehab El-Ebiary, a representative from the Ministry of Youth and Sports, stated that sports have become a criterion by which countries are classified, and is no longer just a recreational activity.
However, the most developed countries have become dependent on sports as a key investment mechanism to attract foreign investments. He stressed that President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi has issued strong directives to support investment in Egypt’s sports sector.
El-Ebiary added that the Sports City in the NAC includes a complex of swimming pools, multiple playgrounds, squash halls, and halls for people of determination. He also said that, last month, the city hosted the Republic Swimming Championship.
Any sports facility has an investment return that increases the value of real estate projects, as there are real estate companies that market their projects close to sports facilities and use this proximity to reach customers, he concluded.
