Egypt’s Ministry of Education and Technical Education has revealed that some social media accounts circulated questions from Wednesday’s Dynamics exam in the Thanaweyya Amma (high school-leaving).
The ministry has tracked a student in Qena governorate who was involved in leaking the exam.
It has also detected three cases of cheating in the Dynamics exam, including hacking the tablet, as well as possessing earphones and smartwatches with cameras.
The Ministry of Education and Technical Education said that the heads of examination committees inspected the pens used in exams, to ensure that they do not have cameras to photocopy the papers.
About 100,435 students in the Mathematics division took the Dynamics exam on Wednesday, with some complaining of the exam’s difficulty, adding that it was very long.
About 649,000 students are taking this year’s Thanaweyya Amma exams, which started on 10 July, amid strict precautionary measures against the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
The Ministry of Education and Technical Education confirmed that correction of exams would be electronic, and the results will be announced 10 days after the end of exams on 2 August.
This year’s exam aims to measure students’ understanding of the subject, rather than the ability to memorise information.
