Egypt held the 6th International Conference of the Egyptian Dar Al-Ifta, under the title “Fatwa Institutions in the Digital Age”, on Monday.
In the presence of several ministers, ambassadors, and religious scholars, Minister of Communications and Information Technology Amr Talaat delivered a speech on behalf of Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly.
He said that this forum has become a distinct annual platform concerned with one of the most important aspects of our lives, especially since this edition of the conference is linked to benefiting from technological development in order to support and advance fatwas.
The Prime Minister said, “Digital technology has become an essential pillar for societies and countries to accelerate their steps towards building their sustainable renaissance based on knowledge. In this context, our country, under the leadership of President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, has entered a new era in which the state has prepared itself to achieve sustainable development.”
He also said that one of the most important of these systems was the construction of digital Egypt as a strategy based on making information technology an essential component in all aspects of life, and it was an opportunity for all state institutions to perform their mission under conscious planning and a clear vision.
The Prime Minister praised the efforts of Dar Al-Ifta, saying, “The Egyptian Dar Al-Ifta, under the leadership of Shawky Allam, has played an important role in this important stage of the nation’s history.”
He continued that over the past years, Egypt has made great and important efforts in the areas of digital development, and used all modern technical means to spread the civilized vision and to correct the misunderstood concepts of Islam in international forums.
