The Aswan International Women Film Festival (AIWFF) announced, last Friday, it will start receiving the participating features for the festival’s sixth edition from 22 August till the end of November.
The organizers of the festival asserted that filmmakers can submit their works through the festival’s official website.
AIWFF, scheduled for February 2022, had two main competitions: short films and long features, alongside a number of special screenings.
The themes of the participating films should revolve around women’s issues and rights. They also should represent women’s talents as screenwriters and filmmakers.
The previous edition witnessed the participation of 12 feature films from 16 countries.
The participating films included four documentaries and one animated feature. Moreover, two Egyptian films were internationally premiered for the first time.
Furthermore, six films were premiered for the first time in Africa and the Middle East during the festival, including “Bad Roads” (Ukraine), “Aristocrats” (Japan), and “La Veronica” (Chile).
