29th Citadel Festival for Music & Singing brings joy amid pandemic

Old Cairo’s spectacular Salah El-Din Citadel has been hosting since 15 August Egypt’s biggest, most anticipated music festival. The 29th Citadel Festival for Music and Singing brings singers and musical troupes from all over the world to perform at the Citadel for 16 days until 30 August. 

The musical fiesta hosts 31 concerts for local and international troupes and singers.

The Festival presents two concerts daily at 20:00 and 22:00. Audience should be present three hours before concerts begin. 

Amid intensive precautionary measures due to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the Cairo Opera House, headed by Magdy Saber, organised the event under the supervision of the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities.
