Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi directed, on Sunday, strict scrutiny of all steps and procedures related to school meals during the manufacturing stage to ensure that the meals have nutritional values that suit each age group.
During his meeting with Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, Al-Sisi discussed the nutrition system for school students and efforts to treat and prevent diseases resulting from malnutrition.
The project to provide school meals to children aims to establish a sound health system for the young generations.
The President was briefed on the executive steps related to providing school meals all over the country, in coordination with the Ministry of Education, as well as the National Service Projects Authority through the Silo Foods Company.
Earlier this month Egypt inaugurated Silo Foods, the mega food industries complex, in Menoufiya governorate, which will provide school meals for around 13 million students nationwide, in order to help students to have a meal complete with high nutritional value during different educational stages.
This project of proper nutrition will be linked with the Egyptian health system and a treatment map.
