Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi discussed, in a meetingon Monday, the position of the national network of roads across the country, as well as the land reclamation project in North and Central Sinai.
The meeting was attended by President Adviser for Urban Planning, Amir Sayed Ahmed; Magdy Anwar, Chairperson of the National Company for the Construction, Development and Management of Roads; and Ihab El-Far, President of the Engineering Authority of the Armed Forces.
The president was briefed on the developments of the reclamation and cultivation of 270,000 feddan in Central and North Sinai, especially with regard to the best crops according to climatic and agricultural studies in the region, and the executive steps to provide and transfer water to the lands targeted for cultivation, as well as the progress of work on the axes and roads within the scope of the project.
He directed to continue Coordination and integration between the various state agencies, including the academic and scientific sectors, to enhance the executive steps of this strategic project, which comes within the framework of the National Project for the Development of Central and North Sinai, and taking into account its significant impact on the state’s efforts in the comprehensive development of the entire Sinai Peninsula and the provision of job opportunities there.
The meeting also reviewed the progress of work on a number of national construction projects, especially the road network and axes at the level of the country, where the executive position for the development of the Upper Egypt road network was reviewed, especially with regard to the Manfalut axis, as well as the axis north of Luxor.
In this regard, the President directed to strengthen the progress of work to serve the development projects and new urban communities, which come within the system of integrated transverse axes linking the road network east and west of the Nile.
During the meeting, the workflow of the group of roads and axes east of Cairo was also presented, and the efforts exerted in the lands on both sides of the “Shinzo Abe” axis.
The President directed the establishment of a modern integrated complex for craft workshops in the city of hope, which will include specialized craft units for the population equipped with all the necessary services.
The meeting also witnessed a review of the executive position of the ongoing construction works in a number of facilities and facilities in the new administrative capital, especially the Islamic Cultural Center of Egypt.
