Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Khaled El-Anany and Minister of Communications and Information Technology Amr Talaat held a meeting to follow up on the progress of several projects within the framework of a cooperation protocol signed between the two ministries last November.
During the meeting, several topics aimed at adapting modern technologies were discussed to develop the tourism sector, including maximizing the use of modern technology in promoting tourism and Egyptian antiquities, as well as introducing archaeological sites and museums through the use of modern technologies to provide virtual tours for tourists.
The meeting also reviewed the possibility of providing Internet services to 40 archaeological sites and museums. In addition, the accomplishments of the project of mechanizing services at the Ministry’s general office and developing the technological infrastructure of the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities was also discussed. This was discussed within the framework of the cooperation of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology with State sectors to build a digital Egypt.
The meeting was attended by Ghada Shalaby, Deputy Minister of Tourism and Antiquities for Tourism Affairs; Raafat Hendy, Deputy Minister of Communications and Information Technology for Infrastructure Affairs; President of the Egyptian Federation of Tourist Chambers; Assistant Minister of Communications and Information Technology for Information Infrastructure; Assistants to the Minister of Tourism and Antiquities for Supervision of Tourism Establishments and Technical Affairs, and Advisor to the Minister of Tourism, in addition to a number of leaders within the two ministries.
