Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi said the Arab nations have deep roots in history, and have all elements of success, progress, and advancement, such as common language, civilization, religion, culture, and neighborhood, all of which contribute in achieving a comprehensive renaissance.
Al Sisi’s speech came during the 47th session of Arab Labor Conference (ALC) in Cairo on Sunday.
He noted that the Arab world faces many challenges imposed by the current global system and the developments in the world work field with their repercussions on the Arab countries, especially in the field of reducing unemployment rates, with new work patterns has resulted from recent changes in the world.
Al-Sisi added that there is no doubt that all of these changes require the Arab world to move forward towards preparing appropriate strategies to advance comprehensive Arab development as well as enhancing and supporting economic cooperation, exchanging information and experiences and working to remove obstacles and barriers for integration among Arab countries.
He asserted the need to promote new and advanced mechanisms to achieve comprehensive Arab integration by facilitating intra-regional trade, the exchange of goods and services, as well as facilitating the movement of labor between the Arab countries.
Egypt chaired the ALC, represented by the Minister of Manpower, Mohamed Saafan, in the presence of 16 Arab labor ministers, 4 presidents and 404 participating members from labor unions, the General Secretariat of the Arab League, representatives of Arab and international organizations, Arab specific and professional unions, and a number of Arab and international personalities.
The conference discusses two technical topics. The first topic tackles the impact of technological development on the work environment and the difficulties that Arab countries face in digital transformation.
The second topic revolves around the requirements of the green economy to provide job opportunities.
