Damen ePayment and Alexandria Water Company (AWCO) have signed a partnership contract to facilitate electronic payment services and provide multiple payment methods.
This came in line with the Egyptian government’s orientation and confirmation of the initiative of the Central Bank of Egypt to automate and digitise all payments.
The partnership contract was signed in the presence of AWCO Chairperson Ahmed Gaber and Damen CEO Tamer El-Hussainy.
Gaber confirmed that his company, one of the companies affiliated with the Holding Company for Water and Wastewater (HCWW), is keen to develop the collection and payment system for the consumption bills, using Damen point of sale (POS) machines.
These machines will record the correct readings from the water meter, to ensure its accuracy and that the consumer is charged according to his actual consumption.
This comes in line with the state plan and HCWW directives, towards the speedy completion of the procedures for digital transformation and electronic payments.
El-Hussainy stressed that the partnership took place due to the experiences and successes of Damen company in Egypt in providing electronic payment solutions.
He added that the partnership will facilitate bill payments for consumers as well as facilitate collections for AWCO using the POSs.
Damen’s POS machines are used for the immediate collection of invoices, allowing printing of the bill to the customer, partial payment of the bill and this system works on the network whether online or offline, which ensures the continuity of work in all locations, as well as providing several payment methods.
