Al Ahly SC celebrated their 10th CAF Champions League, on Tuesday, in a huge ceremony inside the club’s headquarters, in the presence of many sports and public figures.
During the ceremony, Mahmoud El-Khatib, President of Al Ahly, thanked the football team’s work system, pointing out that the achievement came after huge efforts.
El-Khatib said that Al Ahly players were up to the responsibility, and more is expected of them in what is to come.
On the sidelines of the ceremony, the club’s management honoured Muharram Al-Ragheb, the former CEO, and Adly Al-Qai’i, the player transfer consultant, as symbols of commitment within the club.
Al-Ragheb thanked El-Khatib and his board of directors for this gesture. Al-Qai’i said that Al Ahly is like a home that always sets an example and role model for everyone.
Meanwhile, Al Ahly will play their second friendly match on Thursday as part of the team’s pre-season preparations. South African coach Pitso Mosimane seeks to ensure the technical and physical conditions of non-international players after the rest period following the end of last season.
Mosimani will analyse the performance of the international players, and it is expected that many of them will not play the match.
On a different level, Mosimani adhered to the inclusion of a new goalkeeper next season to serve as a ready alternative to Mohamed El-Shennawy, the main goalkeeper.
The past hours witnessed contacts with a number of goalkeepers, most notably Mohamed Bassam, of Tala’ea El Gaish SC and Al-Hani Soleiman of Smouha.
Amir Tawfik, the club’s director of player transfer, announced recently the signing of Karim Fouad, Percy Tau, Michisoni, Hossam Hassan, and Mustafa Al-Badri.
