The elections of sports federations and clubs at the Olympic Committee have become questionable, due to the fact that their date coincides with the expected fourth wave of the coronavirus.

A special source revealed to Daily News Egypt that the upcoming elections may be postponed, as the date for holding them was due in October and November, which is the peak period for the the virus, stressing that the Crisis Management Committee in the Egyptian Cabinet will finally determine the fate of the elections for sports federations and clubs during the coming period.

The source added that some federations are seeking to exploit the fourth wave of Corona in order to postpone the holding of the elections, which contradicts the desire of the Supreme Committee supervising the elections.

On the other hand, the Supreme Committee for the Supervision of General Assemblies of Sports Bodies and the Governance of Procedures and Disputes Formed by Ashraf Sobhy, Minister of Youth and Sports, announced the completion of the classification of members of the General Assembly for 18 sports bodies, and the procedures for classifying members of the General Assemblies for 24 bodies are being completed, at the level of Olympic and non-Olympic sports federations.
