Khaled El-Anany, Egypt’s Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, has met with Ayman El-Gamal, Egypt’s Ambassador to Ukraine, to discuss ways of enhancing tourist movement to Egypt from Ukraine in the coming period, especially during winter.
The meeting was also attended by the Deputy Minister for Tourism Affairs, the Assistant Minister for Technical Affairs, and the General Supervisor of the General Department of International Relations and Agreements in the Ministry.
During the meeting, they discussed activating a joint action plan to increase the incoming tourist movement from the Ukrainian market to Egypt. It was also agreed that the ministry would organize a number of tourism, cultural, and artistic events in Ukraine to promote Egyptian tourist destinations, in cooperation with the Egyptian Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Culture. In addition, Egypt will participate in a number of tourism exhibitions in Ukraine during the coming period.
They also discussed preparations for the participation of the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities in the tourism exhibition to be held in Ukraine next October.
Ukraine ranked second among the markets exporting tourism to Egypt before the COVID-19 pandemic. Ukraine was also one of the first countries to export tourists to Egypt after the resumption of travel in July 2020. This confirms Ukraine’s state and citizens’ confidence in the precautionary and preventive measures as well as health controls that have been applied in the Egyptian resorts.
