Egypt’s Minister of Environment Yasmine Fouad arrived, on Wednesday, in Italy to take part in the preliminary consultations before the 26th Conference of the Parties (COP26) to the Framework Convention on Climate Change.
The meeting is to be hosted by the Italian Ministry of Environmental Transformation, in Milano, from 30 September to 2 October.
Before her trip to Milano, Fouad said in media statements that the conference will be a good opportunity to exchange views between the parties on environmental issues to determine priorities and joint actions that must be taken to confront climate challenges.
The consultations will also contribute to identifying the gains that have been achieved during the past talks, in order to contribute to achieving progress towards achieving common goals.
During the opening session of the Milano conference will witness the presentation of the proposals submitted by the participating youth during the “youth 4 climate” event that will precede the consultations.
It is scheduled that the Egyptian Minister of Environment will hold a number of bilateral meetings on the sidelines of the conference, where she will meet with a number of ministers concerned with climate, in order to exchange visions and viewpoints before the COP26, which the United Kingdom will chair in November.
