Cairo Symphony Orchestra will participate in Jordan’s celebrations of its centenary at the capital Amman from 10 to 14 October.
The Orchestra will perform a concert led by the Jordanian musician, Haitham Sukkarieh, with the participation of singer Ghada Abbasi. The symphony orchestra of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan will also participate in the celebration.
The Jordanian celebrations will recognise the sacrifices and struggles that led to the formation of the Kingdom as well as to portray the prominent stages and national symbols through cultural, artistic works and youth initiatives.
The Egyptian symphony will be the only Arab orchestra participating in the celebration, after it succeeded in achieving a distinguished artistic level that competes with specialized colloquial teams.
The orchestra has prepared a program that includes the most important international classical compositions.
The Cairo Symphony Orchestra, based in Cairo, Egypt, was founded in 1959 by its first music director Franz Litschauer.
