Ambassador Ahmed Hafez, spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, expressed Egypt’s congratulations to the Iraqi government and people, on the successful holding of the Iraqi parliamentary elections.
Hafez pointed to the tireless efforts made by the Iraqi state and its constitutional institutions to ensure the proper conduct of the electoral process, which allowed the Iraqi people to express their free will to choose their representatives.
He expressed his hope that these elections will be a step in enhancing the stability and prosperity process for the brotherly Iraqi people, leading to the formation of a national government that will continue to build on the achievements made in Iraq during the past period, in a manner that meets their aspirations for a secure and prosperous homeland.
Hafez affirmed Egypt’s continuous support for all efforts that achieve Iraq’s interests, security and stability, and contribute to consolidating its position and its active Arab and regional role..
