Libya’s Joint Military Commission (JMC, 5+5) convened in Cairo, Egypt on Saturday, to discuss the removal of mercenaries, foreign forces from the country. The meeting witnessed the participation of the Ján Kubiš, Special Envoy on Libya and Head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) and representatives of Libya’s neighbouring countries.
During its second meeting in Egypt, the Libyan Joint Military Commission 5+5 intends to discuss ways to remove foreign forces and mercenaries from Libya, under the auspices of Kubis, in a way that contributes to supporting political solutions.
The meeting of the Libyan JMC in Cairo coincides with the approaching date of the presidential and parliamentary elections, scheduled to be held on December 24, according to the UN road map.
