Making a massive shift career from entrepreneurship, Mahmoud Shehada, known as TheRealMood, has become a hip hop star with a new single “2Moods”.
Shehada started his professional life creating businesses and launching entrepreneurial ventures that succeeded across the world. He also ran businesses with a turnover of $2.1bn and launched a leading talent management company in the United Arab Emirates.
However, the Palestinian-Canadian talent turned to his first love, the music. TheRealMood burst onto the music scene with his debut song “Mind Right” before backing that up with his new single “2Moods”.
The inspiration for his music comes from battles with mental health and a realisation that you can be more than just one thing: you don’t have to be defined by just one aspect of your life.
Shehada said that ‘‘2 Moods” reflects a self conversation over music. It shows a conflict that can be seen in his journey until today. Despite recording more than 50 tracks over the past decade, he’s only felt able to embrace his musical alter-ego since the pandemic hit. Life is to be lived, in other words, and artists should embrace what they do and share it with the world.
“2Moods” is straight-up classic hip hop. There’s no mumble rap, no drill percussion, no ‘bling bling’ lyrics. Instead, ‘2Moods’ is a throwback to MCs like Tupac, early Eminem and Nas. His supremely chilled delivery is backed up by a simple but elegant backing trap that lets his bars breathe.
Shehada is a content creator who decided to change his career trajectory from that of a serial entrepreneur to one that focuses on the development of music and content.
Having spent the beginning of his professional life founding businesses’, he put music to the side in order to ensure the success of his entrepreneurial ventures.
TheRealMood however, never forgot about his true passion which is content creation. Having taken inspiration from artists such as Tupac Shakur, Eminem and Nas, his musical journey began in his makeshift bedroom studio back in 2007 during his high school years.
Five years later, TheRealMood found himself listening to the likes of Drake, J Cole and Mac Miller who all inspired the songs that he produced in Toronto during 2012. Despite having recorded over 50 tracks, he never felt inclined to release any to the public as he was still exploring his approach to the art.
After much anticipation, Shehada is excited to have released his first track “Mind Right” available on all streaming platforms in 2021. “Mind Right” is only the beginning of a very exciting music career. All of TheRealMood’s tracks are mixed and mastered in Soundstruck Studios based in Dubai.
