The 43rd edition of Cairo International Film Festival has decided to honour veteran Egyptian actress Nelly with the Golden Pyramid Honorary Award for Lifetime Achievement.
The festival will be running from 26 November to 5 December. Nelly will be awarded with the Golden Pyramid in recognition of her long acting career in which she presented many notable and important films and TV series.
Nelly is one of the most prominent stars of show business, and she belongs to an artistic family. Her older sister is Fayrouz, who is known in Egyptian cinema as the “miracle child”, and her cousin is veteran actress Lebleba.
Nelly has a long career in singing, dancing, and acting, which ensured her participation in more than 118 artworks, whether in cinema, theatre, and television.
Nelly is best known in Egypt and throughout the Arab World for “Fawazir Ramadan” (Ramadan riddles), a set of comedy shows with numerous songs and dance routines.
