Egypt has inaugurated the fifth edition of both the Awladna International Art Forum for the Gifted and the Afro-Chinese Arts and Folklore Festival, which will run until 22 November.
The opening ceremony was attended by Egypt’s Minister of Culture Inas Abdel, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Khaled Al-Enany, Minister of Planning Hala El-Said, Minister of Immigration Nabila Makram, Governor of Fayoum Ahmed Al-Ansari, President of the National Council for Women Maya Morsi, and President of the Cairo Opera House Magdy Saber.
The Awladna Forum has become one of the most important artistic events for people with special needs, said Abdel Dayem.
She indicated that integrating talented children with special needs in the artistic scene brings out the most beautiful capabilities.
The festival honored the South African artist Zain Bulbulia and Palestinian artist Haneen Abu Ghosh for their roles in spreading a positive image of people with special needs, and Saudi Abdullah Banama for his initiative “The Umrah Programme” for people with special needs and their families.
This edition witnessed the participation of 32 countries, including Russia, South Africa, Greece, China, Morocco, Tunisia, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, the United States of America, Nigeria, Syria, Cyprus, Switzerland, and Palestine.
The festival aims to promote the process of artistic and social integration of people with special needs with their peers from different countries of the world, especially as it is the first event in the world that will work to achieve international integration.
