Egyptian karate players dazzle world in UAE

The Egyptian karate team continued its creativity and brilliance at the Olympic and international levels, and shined in the World Karate Championship hosted by Dubai, the UAE. The Pharaohs won 8 various medals.

The trio of the Kumite women’s team, consisting of Olympic champion Ferial Ashraf, Menna Shaaban, and Suhaila Abu Ismail, won the gold medal by beating France 2-1 in the final of the group competition.

The Pharaohs continued their brilliant run, winning two gold medals by Ahlam Hamdi Ibrahim, 55 kg, and Youssef Emad, 84 kg.

The duo of Menna Shaaban Ibrahim (+68 kg) and Abdullah Mamdouh (75 kg) won two silver medals. Ali Al-Sawy (67 kg) and Yasmine Nasr Mizan 50 kg won two bronze medals. Aya Hisham, Noha Amr, and Asmaa Magdy won the Kata medals, to bring the total of Egypt’s medals to eight.

Abdulaziz Assem, Ahmed Waheed and Salma Alaa won gold medals, Mohammed Al-Laqani and Mustafa Aboul Fotouh won two silver medals, and Fatima Ahmed, Rawan Khalil and Nadine Youssef won bronze medals.
