Egypt participates in 8th Forum on China-Africa Cooperation

Deputy Foreign Minister for African Affairs, Ambassador Hamdi Loza, participated in the eighth ministerial meeting of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation held in Dakar, Senegal.

Ambassador Loza affirmed Egypt’s interest in developing cooperation with China in various fields and in promoting African trade and economic integration.

 He pointed to the importance of developing countries

 joining hands in facing the consequences of the Corona pandemic and in building technical and scientific capabilities to confront this challenge, through the joint manufacturing of vaccines and medicines.

The final statement of the ministerial meeting praised the important role played by Egypt in promoting security and stability in Africa through Cairo’s hosting of the African Union Center for Post-Conflict Reconstruction and Development (CCCPA).

The final statement also welcomed Egypt’s hosting of the next conference of the States Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP 27), to be held in 2022.

On the sidelines of the ministerial meeting, the Deputy Foreign Minister held a bilateral meeting with his Chinese counterpart, during which they reviewed areas of joint cooperation within the framework of the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries.

They also stressed the importance of continuing coordination between Egypt and China on regional and international issues of common interest.
