Pakistani Ambassador in Cairo explores investment opportunities with Egyptian startups

Ambassador of Pakistan to Egypt Sajid Bilal has met with COOs and representatives of prominent Egyptian startups to discuss investment opportunities in Pakistan. Representatives of SWVL, Trella, Paymob, Orcas, Kashat, and E-Scapes attended the meeting.

SWVL is the largest bus ride-sharing application in Pakistan. Trella, connecting shippers with qualified carriers, was launched last year in the country. Paymob is looking to expand its payment solutions across Pakistan through its point-of-sales operations in the coming months. Orcas, a mobile application that provides educational services and helps connect tutors with parents, is also looking towards the Pakistani market for operations. These start-ups have brought millions of dollars of investment to Pakistan. 

The representatives of the start-ups appreciated the regulatory regimes and the availability of talented workforce in Pakistan, and shared their experiences of entering into the Pakistani market. Speaking to the guests at lunch,  the Ambassador lauded their efforts and offered his full support for further growth of Egyptian investment in Pakistan.
