Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi has expressed his government’s aspiration to strengthen bilateral cooperation with Serbia, during his meeting with Speaker of the Serbian Parliament, Ivica Dačić, in Cairo. Egyptian House of Representatives’ Speaker Hanafy El-Jabaly attended the meeting.
Moreover Dačić stressed his country’s keenness to improve relations with Egypt, praising the pivotal role played by Egypt in consolidating peace and stability in the Middle East, Africa and the Mediterranean region.
Dacic hailed the positive economic developments in Egypt, stressing Serbia’s keenness to activate mechanisms of joint cooperation between the two countries, especially at the parliamentary level.
The meeting discussed ways to enhance bilateral relations in the fields of health, energy and tourism.
The meeting also tackled military cooperation and fighting terrorism, extremist ideology, and illegal immigration, as well as parliamentary cooperation.
The meeting also dealt with the latest regional and international developments of common interest, including the Palestinian issue, as well as ways to consolidate security and stability in the region.
