Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi received on MondayNajib Mikati, the Lebanese Prime Minister, on the sidelines of the fourth edition of the World Youth Forum in Sharm El-Sheikh, said Bassam Rady — the Official Spokesperson for the Presidency — in a statement.
During the meeting, the two sides dealt with ways to enhance the existing bilateral cooperation frameworks between the two countries, including the possibility of benefiting from the Egyptian experience in various fields, such as electricity, infrastructure, and energy projects.
The president welcomed the Lebanese prime minister, stressing his pride in the specificity of the strong relations between Egypt and Lebanon and expressing full support for him to succeed in managing the work of the Lebanese government in a way that meets the aspirations of the Lebanese people.
On his part, Lebanese PM Mikati stressed the value of the distinguished brotherly relations between the two countries, expressing his country’s appreciation of Egypt as a mainstay in supporting and maintaining stability in Lebanon and the Arab region as a whole.
He also praised the inspiring Egyptian experience and how it prioritises development and success, which is a model that fellow countries in the region could follow.
