Egypt’s Fund for Innovators and Geniuses held a meeting headed by Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Khaled Abdel Ghaffar to discuss the fund’s activity and work plan during the coming period.
The minister stressed the importance of sponsoring and supporting talented students to build cadres capable of achieving the country’s sustainable development process.
He added that the Supreme Council of Universities decided to establish a unit in each university to support talented students to transform innovative research ideas into products.
The fund’s plan in 2022 is to support the innovations and ideas of researchers that have an economic return.
The plan also includes programmes to discover innovators and entrepreneurs in partnership with Egyptian universities, and qualifying researchers for entrepreneurship, as well as a sponsorship programme for brilliant students in universities.
The council also agreed to sign a cooperation protocol with the Ibdaa Association for Educational Services to launch the ‘Let Our Lives be Creative Initiative’ to implement several training programmes and various scientific trips for children between 7 and 18 years old in the fields of aeronautics, space sciences, and astronomy.
